For the longest time we have not had a coffee table because we rather allow Finn to have more room to run around. And while our house has two bedrooms, our guy likes to keep to the 5x7' rug we have in the living room.
And this totally works for us for now - but eventually when we buy a house we will be investing in a coffee table. Especially since I offered to host my book club in September I think this needs to happen sooner rather than later. Here are some of my top picks:
I love this coffee table and it's on sale at Cost Plus. Problem is this beauty is not baby friendly and the thought of having to change it out once a wee one arrives is not very practical.
Now this would be amazing and it comes in an array of colors (I am talking 40+ options!). Because I would want this piece for years to come I would probably go for it in a khaki micro suede option. Our couch is a chocolate brown micro suede. Bummer is this ottoman is pricey ranging from $589-$883 - not including tax and delivery charges.
I like this option from Pottery Barn that could be used in different rooms. Priced at $399 and neutral, plus that texture makes me happy!
We could always buy something off Craigslist and refinish or reupholster it too. Sometimes a girl just wants something new!
So in the meantime we need one but then there will be less room for things like this
Which is your favorite option?
pottery barn! which will always make me think of that friends episode where pheobe hates pottery barn. anyone?
ReplyDeleteHaha same here! Gosh I miss that show!

Easily one of my favorite ones!
Deletei love the pottery barn one! seems very versatile and will be pretty baby friendly :)
ReplyDeletei actually love the first one but i see the baby problem so i'd lean toward the PB one! if you have an outlet near you, i often find some reeeeally good options there at super discounts!
xoxoxo
I love the pottery barn one. I've been on the lookout for a coffee table for quite awhile. We have one currently, but it's a hand-me-down from my in-laws and doesn't really go in the spot we have it.
ReplyDeleteAlways love a Finn picture, Jamo lays just like he does with his paws in the air like that!

The first coffee table is my favorite. I love the industrial style :)
ReplyDeleteI actually almost bought this table! In person it looks smaller than it is, but I really dig the style.

I'm loving that wicker one. My entire apartment is the opposite of child friendly, so when that time comes I'm basically going to have to replace everything. Ugh!
ReplyDeleteLove the Seagrass one! Isn't it so funny when dogs lay like that? Totally relaxed. I know this because when we first got Pixie from she didnt do it for a few weeks. I think because she wasn't 100% comfortable with her new home yet. Now she has no problem!
ReplyDeleteI actually kind of like the last one. It's unique and you're right it won't have to be changed when a baby arrives. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have the first one and haven't had any issues with it and baby! We just move it when the little monkey is climbing on the couch in case she falls, just like we would with any other table! It's actually a great coffee table with baby bc of the shelf below- we keep 2 baskets on that shelf full of all things baby (diapers, wipes, toys etc) for when we're too lazy to go upstairs (so, always :)) I vote to get it if it's on sale, that way if the future Baby Parker colors on it, it's not the end of the world!
ReplyDeleteLooove the pottery barn one! But we're the same way--our coffee table is that ugly $15 one from walmart that every single dude has in their apartment. Half the time it has a dog standing on top of it so I'm not too concerned!
ReplyDeleteI love all of these! I think the first one is really cool though!
ReplyDeleteThe first one is perfect! I have been eyeing one similar to it for a year now! The style is very Restoration Hardware-esk!
ReplyDeleteI love the 1st and 3rd options. And the industrial option is more kid friendly than you'd think - cleans up easily and you can just pop some corner shields of the top to prevent injuries.
ReplyDeleteThe 3rd option is really pretty but will be harder to clean (just a thought from a mama of 2)
Good luck! :)
