In honor of celebrating my one year anniversary this Sunday I am going to relive some of my best memories pre-blogging. Starting first with the proposal!
Thanks for reading along as I relive some of my happiest memories!
Thanks for reading along as I relive some of my happiest memories!
The morning of the proposal we toured the new Bay Bridge span - my dad is a civil engineer on the bridge so we got to walk on the span before it was open. Clearly I had no idea what was to come I for sure would have dressed a lot cuter! I also think David is already sweating bullets at this point!
David proposed in Carmel, CA during a gorgeous fall weekend. He popped the question on a beach off of Reservation Road - it was a very special moment. I couldn't even say "yes" I just nodded through my tears. It was the most sincere, perfect and private proposal. And of course, the evening before he took my dad out to dinner to ask for my hand in marriage! (My mom was out of town visiting my brand new baby nephew, Logan).
The celebration was just beginning! David booked us a room at the famous Cypress Inn, a hotel created by Doris Day who was a huge animal advocate. If you know me well - you know I LOVE this. The hotel was designed for people and their pets! David, me and Finn enjoyed a nice glass of champagne to begin the festivities at the hotel's "yappy hour", we then went to our favorite restaurant in Carmel, Casanova, and enjoyed a three course meal. We ended the night with a walk on the beach.
The next day, David's parents drove out to celebrate with us. We enjoyed breakfast on our private veranda overlooking the ocean and then all headed out to the beach. It was record breaking weather that weekend 80 degrees in October.
The last night we stayed at the Lamplighter Inn, another favorite spot of ours in Carmel. I was truly spoiled, it was the most magical weekend.
All of our special moments have taken place in October, my first plane flight to Missouri, our first "I Love You" and our engagement. It was only proper to have our wedding in October!
Tomorrow I will be back with our engagement photos!
