This weekend David and I went to see his parents up in Auburn. On Saturday we drove out to Apple Hill and although I was excited to see what all the hubbub was about - so was everyone else! The traffic was horrific and sadly I thought it took away from the scene. I've heard from locals it's best to experience on a weekday. We only got to go to two orchards and then decided to call it a day. No apple picking for me :( We did however get to stop and enjoy some caramel apples as well as purchase some pies and crisps!
Keeping it real here - photo mid enjoyment!
My wonderful in-laws!
The hubby - who told me he is still on picture taking strike with me ever since these photos.
After we returned home we enjoyed some cider and delicious abalone for dinner.
On Sunday we baked an apple pie and then my mom in law and I went shopping in Grass Valley. She spoiled me with some gorgeous velvet pumpkins and a pretty wrap bracelet.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Our local transportation - also how I commute to work. Is about to go on strike at midnight, not looking forward to it at all. I'll be looking at an over two hour commute each way. Silver lining...gold iPhone arrives on Tuesday!!
Fun weekend! I love those velvet pumpkins, they're beautiful! Have a great Monday!
ReplyDeleteYour photos are gorgeous! It looks like you had a lovely weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love those velvet pumpkins! I've seen them before and and I'd love some for my house. That 2 hour commute sounds miserable, but at least you have your gold iphone to perk you up this week...I want one so badly, I think I'm going to wait for the next round of iphones to upgrade though.

Apple Hill does get insane for the entire month of October! :( We usually hit an orchard or 2 for the little and then find a winery! Beautiful pics girl!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun weekend! I adore your new velvet pumpkins~
ReplyDeletealways, koru kate
oh my goodness, I am so jealous of your gold iPhone! Sounds like you had a great time and props to your hubby for being such a good sport about the anniversary pics. My husband has a general rule of "if it's not a special occassion, please don't make me pose for photos". Seems fair :)
ReplyDeleteI know so many people who tried to go apple picking this weekend and all the apples were GONE!
ReplyDeleteI can't get over how beautiful those leaves are! It's supposed to be in the 80's all week long down here and I'm pretty bitter about it.
That's so sweet that your MIL bought you such cute stuff! I love that bracelet.
You still managed to get some awesome photos!! Such a bummer it was so crowded...and sorry again for bailing!!! And I saw the gold iphone in person...SO pretty!! xo
ReplyDeleteLove that bracelet... and caramel apples! Yum! Those leaves are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI love all of your fall activities!!!! That apple pie looks to die for!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteOh I really love your pictures! Looks like you had an amazing weekend together with your family in law :)
ReplyDeleteCalifornia is too populated I realized after your experience and my experience apple picking this weekend! at least you were able to have a caramel apple and an apple pie.
ReplyDeleteWhat a FUN weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe leaves are BEAUTIFUL!
And of course I'm dying to have a caramel apple now :)
Why does that bird picture creep me out just a little bit? haha...and what a handsome picture of Finn!
ReplyDeleteSo fun!! I love caramel apples! What a sweet MIL you have! That bracelet is awesome!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE ALL YOUR PICTURES!
ReplyDeleteThe first one of you is just adorable.
Sounds like it truly was a wonderful fall weekend! Now all I can think about is going apple picking. :-)
ReplyDeleteThat stinks about the traffic. Again, we went like 15-years ago and while I remember it being crowded it wasn't that bad. We hit a few antiques stores along the way too and found some gems!
ReplyDeleteLooks like such a great weekend - loving ALL of the pictures!
