I knew I would regret it. It's customary and always happens - in fact the last time I cut it this short was on my 26th birthday. Another recommendation, never cut your hair on your actual birthday you will feel older within minutes. Apparently over seven years ago didn't stick in my mind because here I am approaching 32 and decided it was time.
So natch I turned to my Pinterest for hair inspiration and started pinning away shorter tresses. In the end this is what I wound up showing my hair stylist. She was surprised I was opting for a shorter do, whipped out the scissors and just chopped. I was like "woah! We haven't even discussed yet!" and there it all went. My split ends that I worked so hard for. I swear I heard them screaming my name on the descent down.
If you're looking for a moral to this story of "I was so happy I cut my hair" just stop reading now. If you know me, this is never how a hair cutting story ends. Yesterday I lopped off 4.5" and trust me, I won't be doing that again for a LONG time.

Get out of here - you look flawless!!! xo, Biana - BlovedBoston
ReplyDeleteWhat?! You look sooo pretty! It might just take a few days to get used to it :)
ReplyDeleteStop it! I LOVE your hair short!! You look beautiful and just think of how much time you'll save everyday!
ReplyDeleteGirl I love it! I get it though, I always have regret after a big chop, but.. then I'm always how shocked at how FAST it grows right back haha. It really does look great :)
ReplyDeleteIt's sooooo cute! And still long enough to put up! I love it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks REALLY good! Have you heard of The Small Things blog? This girl has the same length as you and used to be a hairdresser. She has amazing tutorials that make me want to chop my hair that length too! http://www.thesmallthingsblog.com/hair/
ReplyDeleteAnd remember that your daughter still thinks you're the most beautiful person on the planet!
I'm with you, I hate whenever my hair is chopped short. Immediate feelings of regret, followed by being extremely annoyed when people tell me it looks sooo good! Unfortunately I am now going to be that annoying person and do the same thing to you - because it really does look super cute! But I get it, and you know that short cut will grow out in no time!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Give it a few days :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!!!, but I totally get what you mean by security blanket...I've had my hair all kinds of lengths.
ReplyDeleteLol, I cried after I chopped mine and still hate it but it's so much easier to manage and I can actually wear it down around the baby. I'm with a ya. I won't be choppin it again probably until next baby. ;). In all seriousness though, it looks amazing on you. I love it!
ReplyDeletei LOVE it!! :) xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteIt looks amazing! I know though, I am so attached to my hair, too.
ReplyDeleteYour hair looks great!! I absolutely love it, I totally understand it though, I love my long hair. I'm still currently growing out to be able to do a proper top knot. :)
ReplyDeleteOmg I love your new hair cut! I cut mine chin length after having my son and loved it until I couldn't put it in a ponytail and found it required more time because I couldn't just let it air dry or throw in a pony! But I love yours and it's still super practical!
ReplyDeleteIt's adorable mama!!!!!!!!! As are you. :)
ReplyDeleteI love it!!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE!!!! You look beautiful!! I showed that same picture to my stylist for the color!!! :)
ReplyDeleteLove it! I have that first picture you posted as my hair inspiration right now too! I'm actually growing mine to that length though rather than cutting it.
ReplyDeleteShort hair seriously looks SO good on you! You look beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI did this after both kids, and a change gives you such a nice fresh feeling! It's nice to freshen up the "baby hair" too! It's crazy what having a baby does to hair! I promise it grows back healthier, and surprisingly fast! It looks so great on you!!
ReplyDeleteLOVE it!!! I think having shorter hair is much easier than long hair with kids. Plus you look great. I am just like you though, I always hate my hair right after I cut it and it takes a few weeks to get used to.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, it looks AMAZING! I just chopped a foot of hair off, and I'm surprisingly glad that I did. I hope that you grow to love it, because it seriously looks SO good on you!!

I swore the same thing and then I cut off TEN inches! Completely regretted it. But seriously you rock this!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! I am still rocking some seriously long hair and I think I will try to pull it off as long as possible! Not sure I'll be allowed to after I turn 30 though...the verdict is still out!
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful!! I know the feeling of hair regret though. I spent over a year growing my hair out for my wedding, only to chop it off (7 inches) 4 months later. I miss my long hair!!!
ReplyDeleteOH I love it! And I will be doing the same thing once my hair starts falling out. #truestory
ReplyDeleteLove it!! You look stunning!!!
ReplyDeletelol - I am applauding your frankness! You look great! But I know that feeling all too well. Recently chopped my super long hair to the shortest it's been in many many years and I know I won't be doing that again anytime soon!

You look so pretty!! But I know exactly what you mean - the last time I did it was in 2011 and I cut like 10 inches off. Never again. I told my loved ones if I even attempted it to immediately stop me. My hair is 100x more work when it is short too!
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious... But it still looks amazing
