Sometimes I feel nuts for already thinking up a theme for P's first birthday. However considering how crazy summers get with vacations, baby showers, bridal showers and such I totally am justifying my thoughts. I have already started crafting (I know crazy!) and ordering a couple of things. Just so come August I am not so overwhelmed with the planning aspect!
So if you can't tell, I am going for a Rifle Paper Co. flower theme. Seeing that her first birthday falls at the end of August my biggest worry is the heat! We will most likely be hosting it at a local park, since we just don't have a yard large enough to accommodate everyone. In a perfect world it would be at my home (less to carry/transport/worry about!) but I am trying not to bum out about it too hard. In reality - she won't remember a thing!
I have started an incredibly cute Happy Birthday banner that I can't wait to see how it turns out. I already had to make some tweaks to it. But pretty sure it will be even better in the end.
So some questions for you mama's who have hosted a one years old party. How many people were on your guest list? Where did you host it? Did you BBQ? Have it catered?
I am trying to think of the smartest way to go about this without making it a huge ordeal cost wise. So any ideas or input would be super helpful! The less I have to think about by the time it rolls around the better!

ReplyDeleteOh the birthday party stress! The first one is all about the parents, so I say invite all the friends & family you like! After that, it will be more about Presley. We threw Liam's at my parents lake house and BBQ'd. It was perfect!
ReplyDeleteI love Rifle Paper Co. You'll have to decorate with a set of pretty new books too :)
ReplyDeleteI am in the midst of planning my daughter's first birthday too (hers is early May) and our guest list right now is around 70 people! I had to rent a small hall to hold everyone - less work and cleanup for me!! I love this theme and can't wait to see how your banner turns out!

I think it's great you're planning ahead! And LOVE the inspiration, gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteI have an August and a January baby and live in New England so we have two spectrums of birthday parties! Her first birthday (Aug) we had about 25 people and semi catered it. We did a great deli tray and my father in law is a great cook so he did meatballs and sausage and peppers. We had a few side salads. Set up tables on the deck and inside and that was that! Parties that have over 50 people for a 1 year old is overboard in my opinion. However my entire family lives in California so it could have been different haha! Your theme is precious.
ReplyDeleteI love this theme - so cute and perfect for your little princess x
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness!!! I'm soooo in love with this theme! Adorable!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the inspiration, can't wait to see it come together!
ReplyDeleteI just attended a wedding here and despite my absolutely strict taste, I had an amazing experience here and I thought to myself that this vow renewal location is perfect! Their food is delicious and the ambiance is elegant.
