It's where I feel my true self. My happiest. My calmest. My most complete.
Whenever David gets that gleam in his eye and says "Let's go to the coast!" I am always up for the ride. Maybe I was a mermaid in my former life?!
Where is your place you feel most like home? Have you never seen the ocean?

I absolutely love the ocean. I grew up visiting Charleston, SC, and that is also where I got engaged. It holds near and dear to my heart. I have never been to California, but I can only imagine that the coast is absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteAmen! I was born and raised in Portland, Maine, and moved to Pittsburgh 6 years ago with my husband. I love it here, but I miss being near the ocean like crazy!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the ocean! It was the highlight of my summers growing up in South Carolina. I truly miss it living in the Midwest! I am so excited for our trip planned in August, it will be Avery's first time at the ocean!
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen the ocean in forever. I think my husband and I need a pit stop somewhere soon. California's coast must be beautiful.
ReplyDeleteA million times YES! Between growing up in Brazil and Florida, the ocean was always ten minutes away. I must've been a mermaid in the past too! That's been the hardest part about being in AZ now, but California is still a road-trip away. Great one!
ReplyDeleteI loooove being on the water. I grew up on the coast of the Baltic Sea so I'm all about beach life. I love the sound of the waves hitting the shore. So relaxing. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with this! Although we don't have the ocean here, I've lived on Lake Michigan my entire life. We're living about 30 minutes from the beach right now and it's SO weird to me, this is the farthest I've ever been away from water!
ReplyDeleteI really love living near the ocean now :) it's pretty fantastic to be able to drive 5 mins and be near water! xo jillian - cornflake dreams
ReplyDeleteI'm with ya girl! I can't live without days at the beach either. I will never understand how people don't make it a point to see a beach at least once in their life. It's the best form of therapy.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to live somewhere that I could just drive to the water! I am right there with you on your love for the ocean. We go to Mexico almost every year, there is nothing that makes me happier than being there and just totally relaxing and staring at the beauty.
ReplyDeleteLove it... and love that we live only a couple hours from the ocean too..hint hint..we need to plan a beach day! ;)
ReplyDeleteI have to do a double take when I read posts like yours because I forget that some people have never seen the ocean! I am lucky enough to have grown up on the west coast where you can swim in the ocean and ski a glacier in the same day (people cross this off their bucket list) and in fact see the harbour from our bedroom window. I need to stop taking this for granted!
ReplyDelete100% with you on this one! When I am at the ocean I feel a way that I can't describe - like a deep connection to it that can't be explained <3 I just wish we lived closer to it so I got to spend more time there!!
ReplyDeleteI get this so much, I write a lot about the restorative qualities of the sea. Have a lovely weekend x
ReplyDeleteI grew up in the Central Valley and when I moved from California to Az it was weird to me that all they had around were man made lakes or I should say that's all they had close. Now I live outside of Boston and Cape Cod is 45 minutes away. Love that my kids can go to the beach every weekend during the summer. Now if we can just get summer to be longer.
ReplyDeleteThe ocean is my happy place. Just being within walking or driving distance, I find it so comforting!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more - I've always lived by the ocean and I could never move away... Our bedroom view is one I could stare at all day x
